ATLANTA — Police need help solving the murder of a father of four on an Atlanta expressway.

Channel 2 Action News and the Atlanta Police Foundation are teaming up to help bring down criminals. Every week we intend to bring you stories involving Crime Stoppers Atlanta.

Channel 2′s Darryn Moore is investigating one of Atlanta’s first murders of the year. Ernesto Anderson was traveling west on Interstate 20 near Capitol Avenue on Jan. 4 when he lost control and crashed.

Police thought it was a traffic accident until they looked inside the car.

“When he hit the median, the tires blew out and somebody called 911,” said his sister Michelle Anderson.

Officers showed up and found Anderson shot in the head. He died at the hospital.

Detectives are calling it murder.

“He was only 31. He had a lot to live for, had all kind of dreams,” Michelle Anderson said.

Anderson was a devoted father of four young kids. His sister described him as a hardworking man who looked after his mom and dad.

“He was a good son who loved and cared for my parents. When they both fell ill with cancer, he took care of them completely,” Michelle Anderson said.
