DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A woman wants the man who beat her to the brink of death to be put away in prison before he can do it again to someone else.
Channel 2 Action News and the Atlanta Police Foundation are teaming up to help bring down criminals. Every week we intend to bring you stories involving Crime Stoppers Atlanta.
It was in March when a man broke into Lisa Holland’s home and began to beat her.
Channel 2′s Darryn Moore spoke to the victim, who said she hopes DeKalb County detectives working the case will track down the man who tried to kill her.

“He was real tall, broad shoulders, dark clothes and he just immediately threw me down on the floor. He said if I don’t cooperate, he’s going to kill me,” Holland said.
Her face was blackened and bruised for weeks after the beating.
“I looked pretty scary there for a while,” Holland said.
She’s alive and recovering from her injuries and getting better.

“Some of this is still numb from nerve damage,” Holland said.
Holland didn’t mind retelling her story and reliving the attack.
“Using his left hand, he was strangling me, and he was behind me, I couldn’t see him,” Holland said. “He kept saying, ‘I’m going to kill you if you don’t cooperate.’”
She thought it was the end.
“I said, ‘this is my last day on Earth. I’m not going to come out of this alive,’” Holland said.
The man only took her purse and cell phone. She felt her attacker had other motives.
“I really truly believe he intended to kill me and thought he killed me,” Holland said
Holland said she is getting frustrated with the investigation. Two DeKalb county detectives are working the case.
“I feel like they are not pushing into this, because I don’t want this to happen again and it’s scary to know that he’s out here,” Holland said.
Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering $5,000 as a reward in the arrest and conviction of the attacker. If you have any information on the attack, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS. You don’t have to give your name to cash in on the reward.
