In a funny Facebook post, the sheriff’s office posted a photo of one of their deputies helping guide a pair of runaway donkey’s back where they belong with the help of a local resident and a couple of apples.

Corporal Smith didn’t say if the wayward pair were on their way to do some holiday shopping or if they were just out for a Saturday afternoon stroll. But the fearless deputy can say he got them back where they belong.

According to the sheriff’s office, this was not the Corporal’s first donkey encounter over the past month. They said Smith had encountered a different donkey who was allegedly in the middle of a nearby road, supposedly wearing a mask just a few weeks ago.

They did not say if Smith was just unlucky, in the right place at the right time or their new “Donkey Wrangler”. But if that position is ever available, it appears he might be the most qualified person in the county for the job.
