DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A DeKalb County Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins failed its health inspection, just one month after earning a perfect score.
The store, located on Candler Road in South DeKalb off Interstate 20, received a 66 this week.
“I think it’s a little negligence on the worker’s behalf,” said regular customer Robert Scott.
Despite the low score, Scott says he is not going to change his routine.
Several of the violations included hand washing issues, such as employees picking trash off the floor and then using a blender to make a drink without washing their hands. One person observed an employee touching a peeled banana with bare hands. The inspector also noted cold-held potentially hazardous food not held cold enough, and hot-held potentially hazardous food not held hot enough.
When new management took over the location in mid-June, they were inspected and got a perfect score of 100.
Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge spoke with the new manager about the drop in score. The manager said that she has been training the employees about the hand washing rules. The manager also had an inspector in on Monday to check and make sure the violations are being corrected.
“She is an outstanding manager. Paying attention (and) keeping her employees in line,” Scott said.
He is convinced the new manager will fix the violations and get a high score.
The store must pass the follow up inspection, or they will be asked to voluntarily close until the violations are corrected.
