DUNWOODY, Ga. — A metro Atlanta police department says it is just as excited to welcome in the New Year, but reckless driving isn’t how to get into it any faster.

On Dec. 31, around 9:10 a.m., a Dunwoody officer conducted speed enforcement on Interstate 285 westbound at North Peachtree Road.
Police said the officer spotted a black car traveling 109 miles per hour in a 65 mph speed zone with a LIDAR speed detector.

“...Reckless driving will not get you into 2025 any faster! Please remember to drive safely and at the speed limit as you travel over the holiday,” the Dunwoody Police Department said.
The driver, whose age and identity were not released, was arrested.
He was charged with speeding, reckless driving, no insurance, unsafe lane changes and not wearing a seat belt.
