DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are trying to figure out what led to a triple shooting at a DeKalb County home.

Three men are now at area hospitals and out of surgery.

Two of them remain in serious condition.

Channel 2's Liz Artz talked to police about their investigation Monday afternoon.

They said they need the men to get well enough to be able to sit down and talk with them and get statements.

Detectives said everyone involved got shot, and they do know one of the men who was shot did not have a gun and did not fire a weapon.

DeKalb County police got the call just before 1 a.m. Monday of a person shot on Monterey Drive.

When they arrived, they discovered three men had been shot.

"I just heard one shot but I didn't know where it was coming from. I thought maybe it was something around the corner," said Skip Clark.

Clark, who rents a room from the homeowner, told Channel 2 Action News he heard three gunshots and then woke up to the homeowner begging him to call 911.

"He told us he got shot in the stomach,'" Clark said.

He said two other men were also at the home suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said there was some sort of argument before the gunfire.

They said they believe one man jumped in to break-up the fight when he got shot.

"Everyone came outside. It shocked the whole neighborhood. It caught everybody's attention," Clark said.
