DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are searching for the person who shot a 64-year-old man after that man gave the gunman a ride.
Grady Jenkins initially survived the June 10 shooting, but later died from the gunshot wound.
Police say Jenkins drove to the Citgo gas station on Glenwood Road in Decatur and picked up a man to do some yardwork.
When the two men got back to Jenkins’ Oregon Trail home, the man demanded cash and the keys to Jenkins’ SUV, police say.
The man then pulled out a gun and shot Jenkins in the stomach.
Jenkins survived long enough to give police a description of the shooter, but he later died.

Surveillance video obtained by Channel 2's Audrey Washington shows the man believed to be the shooter running from Jenkins' home.
Police believe the shooter is in his late teens and possibly is still in the Decatur area.
“Based on the area where the boy was picked up and how he fled on foot, it’s my belief that he is going to be local to that area,” DeKalb County police Det. Keith McQuilki said.
Washington spoke to Jenkins' sister, who is pleading for answers.
“He was just a very kind loving spirit that just -- if he could help you he would. He would give you the shirt off his back,” she said. “I am hoping for some justice. They took a big chunk out of all of our lives and it will never be the same.”
