AMBER Alert canceled, toddler found safe

DORAVILLE, Ga. — Doraville police say they have found the toddler and father at the center of an Amber Alert.

Police found 18-month-old Carter Willis Johnson was spotted in south Florida with his father, Willis Johnson. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, with the help of Doraville police, were able to convince Carter to surrender himself to authorities.

Both are in safe condition.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will take custody of Carter.

Police say Carter has been with his father since April 1, when his mother handed him over at a custody exchange point in the police parking lot.

The father failed to return the boy on Sunday.
