Atlanta Opera finds sweet way to thank health care workers

ATLANTA — Some heroic healthcare workers got a special thank you from some of Atlanta’s best musicians Saturday.

The Atlanta Opera Company Players performed an outdoor pop-up concert to express their gratitude to the Grady Health workers who do COVID-19 testing on the organization’s singers and crew.

Workers in PPE and masks looked on as a trio of singers sang “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” on a beautiful Saturday morning.

The Atlanta Opera is holding its fall 2020 season at an open-air, mobile venue. The Molly Blank Big Tent Series kicked off in October in a custom-made tent without walls to allow for ventilation. The venue holds up to 240 audience members.

The tent is currently stationed at Oglethorpe University.
