Brookhaven police break up major drug operation

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — The Brookhaven Police Department shut down a major drug operation thanks to a community tip, they announced Monday.

A resident made a complaint in early December that kicked off the investigation. According to officials, a SWAT team and Brookhaven investigators arrested seven people after getting a search warrant for a house in the 1200 block of Blocking Way.

Police took about 50 pounds of marijuana, four guns, ammunition, cocaine and prescription pills from the house.

Charged in the bust were: Leon Robinson, 32, of Lawrenceville; Aaron Robinson, 30, of Lawrenceville; Jamil Harrison, 30, of Lawrenceville; Brandon Leggett, 35, of Norcross; Anteneh Workeneh, 30, of Lilburn; Odyssey Garza, 27, of Norcross; and Tynesha Matthews, 28, of Atlanta.

All seven were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. In addition, Leggett was charged with trafficking more than 10 pounds of marijuana and possession of cocaine, and Matthews was charged with obstruction and tampering with evidence.
