DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Crews are continuing to work on a water main break that has a portion of Clairmont Road in Brookhaven shut down near Dresden Drive.

The break was first reported as breaking news during WSB Tonight on Monday night.

Business owners are telling Channel 2′s Audrey Washington that they are concerned about how customers will make it to their stores while crews make repairs.

“Yes, I’m concerned, and I’m surprised that there’s a little hole in the street,” Jan Bolgla, owner of Atlanta Vintage Books said. “I don’t know if anybody can get down Clairmont to get to our store but we’re open. You just have to go down Manville. So, it probably will not be our best day.”

Christina Bolanos is the property manager for Fiesta Plaza.

She said with the snowstorm on Friday and the water main break, it’s been a tough few days on local business owners.

“We have several restaurants that won’t be able to cook, and they won’t be able to use that water right away even when it comes back,” Bolanos explained.

“They said it’s going to take all day. That’s very discouraging for business. Missing a whole day of work is really hard for a small business,” Bolgla added.

DeKalb County Watershed Management told Washington that their work on repairing the water main should last for the better part of Tuesday.

There is no word on when Clairmont Road will fully reopen.
