Crews repairing broken DeKalb County water main on Covington Highway

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County officials said crews are working to repair a broken water main on Covington Highway.

Officials said crews are on site already to repair a six-inch broken main and residents and businesses in the area are advised to avoid the area if possible.

“Residents and businesses in the area are experiencing low to no water service due to the damaged water line,” according to county officials.

Traffic delays are also expected in the area around the repairs as they’re underway.

Channel 2 Action News has asked the county for more specifics on where the break occurred.

Officials have not said what caused the break or a timeline of when repairs may be completed. A boil water advisory has not been issued at this time.
