DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — It’s lunchtime in the city of Stonecrest in Dekalb County.  Mason Wright has spent the last five years preparing for this moment.

“I’m having my restaurant grand opening today. I’m feeling good about it. We have a line and I’m really happy about that,” Mason said.

Mason is the owner of Super Dogs.  He’s just 14 years old.

“He’s living his dream, and I came out to support it,” customer Caroline Williams said.

Mason started out with a hot dog cart at the age of nine, and is the type who always thinks big.

“You know what the key to this all is? He is well raised by his parents. This young man is 14 years old. Opening his own business. It couldn’t be any better than this,” Stonecrest Mayor Jason Lary said.

For the last couple of years Mason has successfully sold his Super Dogs on the campus of Morehouse College.  But when the pandemic forced classes to go virtual, he had to come up with what entrepreneurs call a new business model.

He says besides the great food, there’s another secret to his success.

“A lot of hard work, missing out on a lot of weekends, and always sticking to what I do best. Work hard,” Mason said.
