DUNWOODY, Ga. — Police said a DeKalb County police motorcycle officer is expected to survive after he was hit by a car Sunday morning.
The accident happened around 11 a.m. near Perimeter Mall on Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Georgia State Patrol investigators said the officer was working to clear an intersection with his emergency lights flashing when a car plowed into him, throwing him from the bike.

The officer, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver told Dunwoody police at the scene that he didn’t see the motorcycle with its lights on due to traffic in the turn lanes.
The driver, Yexon Munoz Enamorado, 20, was driving without a license. Enamorado was arrested on driving while unlicensed and taken to the DeKalb County jail.
