DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County will give out $100 gift cards to people who get the COVID-19 vaccine shot this weekend.
The DeKalb County Board of Health and DeKalb County Fire Rescue will offer vaccinations to anyone ages 12 and older at the Gallery at South DeKalb on Candler Road on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Everyone who gets vaccinated will get a $100 prepaid debit card.
The event is drive-through, but walk-ups are also welcome. There will also be COVID-19 testing on site.

“We are in the midst of a deepening crisis in our county, state and nation,” DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said. “We will leave no stone unturned to encourage all eligible persons to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”
The county has done previous incentivized vaccine drives, giving out $50 gift cards.

As of Aug. 11, 46% of DeKalb County residents are fully vaccinated.
