DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police have identified the woman whose body ended up on the side of a road Monday morning.
Police received a 911 call around 8 a.m. Monday about a body on Marbut Road near Stonebridge Creek Drive in Lithonia. That is just a block away from Lithonia High School.
DeKalb police identified the woman Thursday as 22-year-old Kenya Smith.

Investigators believe Smith was walking to work when a vehicle hit her from behind. The driver did not stop and left her on the side of the road. Someone later noticed her and called police.
The make and model of the vehicle are unknown, but it should have damage to its right front side.
Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway was there Monday as police spent hours looking at possible evidence in the grass and wooded area off Marbut Road.
Holloway spoke to neighbors who say they were shocked and concerned that her body was found near their neighborhood.
