DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A murder suspect is now behind bars thanks to a license plate reader.

On Sunday, DeKalb County officers were called to the Terrace Trail in Decatur around 12:30 p.m. in regard to a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound.

Police said, their community-based Connect DeKalb System captured a blue Chevy Malibu that was stolen after the victim was shot and killed.
According to DKPD, officers began searching the area and found the car nearby.

Authorities arrested Donteyia Manning, 33, and charged her with malice murder and theft by taking.
The victim’s age and identity have not been released.
