DUNWOODY, Ga. — One person is dead after being hit and killed by a train in Dunwoody.

MARTA officials said on Twitter that the northbound trackway at the station was shut down due to an “emergency situation.”
Authorities told Channel 2 Action News someone was hit and killed by a train. Their identity has not been released.

While the railway is shut down, MARTA officials are offering riders an $8 Uber credit through MARTAConnect.

Service is still being provided from North Springs to Medical Center while the incident is being investigated.
It is unclear how long rail service will be down.
