His family said he had just gotten off work at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and took a MARTA bus home, just like he did every day. He’d worked at the airport for a decade.
Police said someone shot and killed him just after he got off the bus around 2 a.m.
His mother, Queshon Walker, is struggling to come to terms with what happened. The family believes Corey was robbed.

“My boy was just laying there, he was laying there and (crying) he was just laying there,” said Walker. “They took a valuable person out of everybody’s life. We have been shown so much love in this process but it does not fill up the void that has been taken from us.”
Corey’s sister, Jamaria Walker, said she is heartbroken, but determined to solve the case.
“It hit home for me a little more because this is what I wanna do in life,” she said. “So if I’m able to Corey, I promise you—I will find out who did it. And I love you so much.”
As they wait for answers, the family held a balloon release in Corey’s name. Neighbors are hoping surveillance video helps identify the killer.
“Corey loved going to church with his family every Sunday,” his mother said. “He turned out exactly how I wanted... just a good man.”
