BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — A family has been displaced after a fire occurred in the back of the home, DeKalb County Fire PIO Jaeson Daniels told Channel 2 Action News.
Daniels said the call came in around 11 p.m. and units were dispatched to 2749 Redding Road Northeast to heavy fire coming from the back of the home.

The neighbors who live at the home were awake when the fire ignited, and were able to escape the home successfully after smelling smoke.
No firefighters were injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown, is under investigation and there was no damage to any other home on the street, Daniels said.
