Channel 2′s Larry Spruill obtained video of a large fight inside a school hallway. A school resource officer appears to be firing pepper spray at a group of brawling students.
Spruill talked to multiple students who said the fight started between a group of students in the front office area.
Spruill also talked to one parent, who said he’s upset the officer resorted to pepper spray.
“Them are innocent kids,” he said. “She’s a police officer. She was trained to handle this. She’s trained to deal with kids, not to hurt them.”
The school sent a statement, reading:
“Several students were involved in a physical altercation that resulted in the use of OC (oleoresin capsicum) spray to regain control. EMS arrived and treated students on-site. No serious injuries were reported.”
