DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators said a murder suspect was killed while law enforcement officers were trying to arrest him in DeKalb County.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported federal deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service and deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office attempted to arrest Demarco Riley, 27, at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at a condo along Kensingwood Trace in Decatur.
Riley was wanted in connection to a killing last week.

The GBI reported deputies knocked on the door of the home to let their presence be known.
After getting several people out of the home, investigators said they gave commands for Riley to surrender, but he refused.
Investigators said during a brief standoff, a U.S. Marshals deputy fired at Riley, killing him.
No officers were injured in the incident.
An autopsy will be performed on the body at the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office on Thursday.
The GBI stated this investigation is still active. Once the case is completed, it will be turned over to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office for review.
