Group of Black Atlanta entrepreneurs pays for over $40k in groceries at local Kroger

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A group of Black Atlanta entrepreneurs paid for thousands of dollars worth of shoppers’ groceries at a metro Atlanta grocery store earlier this week.

The group surprised shoppers at the Kroger on Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur on Tuesday.

Video posted entrepreneur Brad Giles’ Instagram pages shows customers at dance for joy and tear up as they go through the checkout lanes -- only to find their bills taken care of.

Receipts show that the group paid for over $40,000 of merchandise. They also passed out gift cards.

“Black entrepreneurs, we’ve got to give back to our communities,” Giles says in the video. “We all banded together to make this happen. It’s a blessing for all of us together to be able to help other people. We love to do it.”

The group also included a who’s who of about 20 Atlanta business people including Giles, who owns a company that provides in-home nursing care, celebrity fitness trainer Jason Lobdell, author and entrepreneur Nehemiah Davis, marketing executive Mary Seats, trucking company owner Alix Burton and more.
