DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Family and friends are remembering a hairstylist killed in a bizarre crash on I-20 over the weekend.
Marie Fleuristin was driving eastbound near Wesley Chapel Road around 10 p.m. Sunday when the man driving the car in front of her was shot.

His car stopped in the middle of the highway causing Fleuristin to hit his car from behind.
She got out of her car to check on him and that’s when a tractor-trailer hit and killed her.

Police still do not know who shot the man, identified as Jesse Dempsey, 41.
Friends say Fleuristin was a hairdresser at the Cherry Blossom salon in northeast Atlanta.
They are remembering her as a positive light wherever she went.
“If she fell down and she got up she came out even stronger,” friend Diane Rivera said. “It’s a great loss.”

Fleuristin moved down here last year from New York.
A worker at her salon tearfully told Channel 2′s Tom Jones that Fleuristin had a good heart inside and out.
The 39-year-old leaves behind a daughter.
“She was always positive. and to see that happen it was just wow. I just can’t believe it,” friend Anthony Pinto said.
