DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — New Year’s Eve is over and 2025 is here.
Law enforcement agencies across the state of Georgia made a point of emphasis in notifying drivers that any roadway violations would result in tickets or jail time this most recent holiday season.

On Thursday, the DeKalb County Police Department released the number of citations issued for specific traffic violations.

Here are the results for the specific sections of the county where checkpoints were:
- Covington Highway- 31 citations issued
- Memorial Drive- 21 citations issued
- Interstate 20- 24 citations
- Moreland Avenue- 14 citations
DKPD officials did not specify what the specific citations represented, how many if any were jailed, or any fatalities.
