DECATUR, Ga. — The spot where a Confederate monument once stood in Decatur Square will temporarily be home to a hologram of George Floyd, the Black man who died after a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes, according to our partners at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and AJC.com.
The hologram is set to go up Friday night, according to Change.org, which is working with the George Floyd Foundation on a weeklong effort to show the hologram at places around the Southeast where monuments to the Confederacy have been taken down. The project has already held events in Richmond, Virginia, and Asheville, North Carolina.
The projection begins at 8 p.m.
