NewsChopper 2 was over Towers High School, where more than a dozen officers and at least three ambulances were in the parking lot.

School officials said one student was taken to the hospital with minor injuries while other students who were affected by the pepper spray were treated at the scene.

The district said all students involved in the fight have been arrested and charged.

Channel 2′s Michael Seiden learned that a fight broke out in the school cafeteria, and when a school resource officer and administrators tried to break it up, the students turned on them.

DeKalb County Police were called in to assist in breaking the fight up.

Video that students shared with Seiden showed multiple students fighting and administrators trying to get the situation under control. A second video appears to show DeKalb County police deploying pepper spray.

Parents were shocked at the violence.

“My daughter texted me and said there was a bunch of fighting at the school and there was blood everywhere,” a parent told Seiden.

School officials have not said how many students were involved in the fight or exactly how many were affected by the pepper spray. They said more students are likely to face charges.

Towers High School is on Brookcrest Drive in Decatur.
