DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police have arrested a man who they say raped and killed a pregnant woman at a DeKalb County motel.

Investigators say Terique Hall, 24, attacked Ashley Mays, 20, at the Quality Inn and Suites along Snapfinger Drive on Nov. 18. They said Mays’ hands and feet were bound with zip ties. She was then assaulted and strangled.

Hall was captured on camera leaving the room where the crime was allegedly committed before walking out of the hotel and leaving in his car.

Hall is a driver for MV Transport, which provides transportation for MARTA for people with limited mobility.

Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez spoke to the victim's family members who said they are devastated.

They said Mays already had a son and was four months pregnant with a baby girl. The baby didn’t survive.

Family members said she was thrilled and had already picked out a name, Alani.

"Ashley loved her family very much. I am saddened by her tragic death but our faith will always be in the Lord. So we know Ashley is [in heaven] dancing freely now,” her mother said.

Investigators believe there could be more victims. They believe Hall may also be responsible for sexually assaulting another woman just days before Mays’ death.
