DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: Royce Stewart was booked into jail and Channel 2 Action News obtained his mugshot just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
A man accused of stabbing two people is now in jail. Police said he killed a man and a 14-year-old girl.
Police found the suspect, Royce Stewart, 36, after a manhunt in DeKalb County.
Channel 2's Matt Johnson broke the news of the arrest on his Twitter account.
There was a lot of relief in the area after Stewart was caught Monday. He turned out to be at his last known address.
Rae Young was rattled by the manhunt in her backyard.
“The dogs picked up scent, they went all under our houses, they did a thorough check of the area,” Young said.
Young lives next door to where authorities said they found the car Stewart stole after killing two people Sunday.
Police found the abandoned car parked at a house on Glen Raven Court just hours before authorities found Stewart.
