Man arrested after shooting, killing convenience store clerk, Clarkston police say

CLARKSTON, Ga. — The Clarkston Police Department arrested a man whom they said shot and killed a convenience store clerk during an argument Friday night, police announced Saturday.

Police said Mohamadzahirbin Mohamadfazal, 60, shot a 32-year-old man in the chest during an argument at a Stop & Save Food Mart around 10 p.m. The victim, whom police said was the clerk at the store, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mohamadfazal drove away from the scene and got into an accident in Dekalb County, and DeKalb police were able to match him to the description given by witnesses in the store, officials said.

Mohamadfazal has been charged with malice murder.
