DEKALB COUNTY, Ga — A 21-year-old man is dead and two women are in serious or critical condition after being hit while standing outside their cars on I-20 eastbound early Sunday morning, DeKalb County police said.
Police say several people were standing outside of their cars on the interstate at Turner Hill Road in the Lithonia area when they were struck and killed by another car.

Police said when they arrived just after 2 a.m., the 21-year-old man was dead and two women, one in her 20s and another in her 40s sustained “serious to critical injuries” and were taken to the hospital.
Both east and westbound traffic on I-20 at Turner Hill Road was shut down while crews investigated and cleared the area on Sunday morning.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
