DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — An armed person firing gunshots at construction workers has been arrested hours after prompting a SWAT standoff in a DeKalb County neighborhood.
The incident unfolded on the 300 block of Vista Brook Drive starting on Tuesday morning. A nearby elementary school was initially put on lockdown but it has since been lifted and children have been released.
The DeKalb County School District confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that McLendon Elementary School was on lockdown Tuesday morning.

NewsChopper 2 was over the scene and spotted several police cars near a home.
Police said the suspect, who has not been identified, had fired rounds of gunfire at construction workers in the area.
No one was injured.
The suspect is being charged with four counts of aggravated assault.
