Reed has stepped in to help the school before, coaching the team in the playoff in 2023 against Coffee.
Reed will join his former Baltimore Ravens teammate Jamal Lewis on the coaching staff. Both of their sons, Edward Reed III and Jazz Lewis, play for the team, which finished with a record of 1-9 last season, according to Sports Illustrated.
The Ravens drafted Reed out of the University of Miami, where he won a BCS National Championship with the 2001 Hurricanes.
Reed spent 13 seasons in the NFL and won Super Bowl XLVII with the Ravens. He was named to nine Pro Bowls and the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Decade Team.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame inducted Reed with the Class of 2019. He still holds the NFL record for most career reception return yards (1,590), longest interception return (107 yards) and most career postseason interceptions (9).
He finished his career with 64 interceptions and 13 touchdowns.
