DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — One person is dead after DeKalb County Fire and Rescue said a fire started at the rear of a home located on Cresta Drive.

Details are limited, but DeKalb County Fire and Rescue officials confirmed with Channel 2 Action News the fire started in the rear of the home around 7 p.m. on Saturday night. When they arrived, the entire back of the home was in flames.
The victim was located in the carport of the home and it appears the victim was trying to escape the fire but was unsuccessful.

At this time, the fire is still under investigation and the victim has not been identified.
