DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are still investigating a high-speed rollover crash where one person was killed, and three others were injured.
Police still have not released the name of the driver, but they do say he was speeding off the off-ramp from Interstate 20, crashed into another SUV, and then started to roll through a parking lot across the street along Columbia Drive.
“It was tragic. I don’t even know … I’m speechless,” a witness who asked not to be identified told Channel 2′s Richard Elliot.
Police say a pickup truck driver was speeding as he came off the off-ramp and collided with a blue SUV.
The witness told Elliot that the collision was deafening.
“I just heard a big old bang and when I looked up, I just seen a new vehicle just spinning like real fast,” the witness said.
The first impact injured three people in the SUV, but what happened next shook some witnesses to their core.

“As I looked as that car was spinning, I look up and there’s another car just flipping in the air, like literally flipping and the next thing you know, there’s commotion everywhere,” the witness said.
The collision and flipping killed the driver of that pickup.
DeKalb County police are still investigating and don’t know why the driver was moving so fast coming up the off-ramp, but their investigation continues.
Other witnesses Elliot spoke with say the crash and the scene were too traumatic to talk about.
The witness said it all happened so fast, she could barely believe it.
“It was very tragic. I honestly… I don’t know what was going through my mind. It was all happening so fast,” the witness said.
The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the SUV and the two passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
