DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A parent told Channel 2 Action News that she was so disgusted with the conditions in a school bathroom, she took to social media to raise awareness about it.
Now, thousands of people have seen her post.
The mother told Channel 2’s Tom Jones that the school bathroom is a health hazard.
“I wanted to cuss so bad," Ashonti Dixon said on the Facebook Live post she recorded last Thursday.
Dixon went ballistic when she walked into a girl's bathroom at Lithonia Middle School.
"Y'all see that. That's no soap," she said in the video. "Look at this door. I don't know who did this. It's a shabby job. I know DeKalb County Schools can do better than that.”
Dixon was appalled that several stalls had no doors on them, one door was on the floor next to a toilet
and other doors were made of plywood. Several toilets were out of order.
Dixon said there was no soap, the sinks were dirty, there was one roll of toilet tissue on the floor and the bathroom smelled.
"Betcha them schools in Dunwoody don't look like this," she proclaimed in the video.

Dixon, whose son attended the school last year, said the students don't deserve this.
"That's not safe, for one, and it's not right," Dixon said.
A DeKalb County School representative told Jones that Dixon's video depicts the restroom before custodians cleaned it and before it was restocked with soap and paper products.
The representative said all the stall doors throughout the school will be replaced over the next two weeks.
Dixon said she was told the bathroom would be repaired last year. She said finding out it wasn't is why she went to Facebook.
"I didn't plan on it but I had so many emotions when I seen that bathroom look the way it did from last year,” Dixon said.
Dixon's post has received 14,000 views and has been shared nearly 500 times.
She said she loves the school and just want students to have the best environment in which to learn.
