DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A police shootout in Decatur ended up with one suspect dead and the other in custody. Now there's an investigation into who fired the deadly bullet.
The shootout with police and robbery suspects is the talk of the neighborhood.
"It was like 10 gun shots and then you heard another set of shots," neighbor Unchina Myreck told Channel 2's Lauren Pozen.
That gunfire on Snapfinger Woods Drive was the end to a crime spree that started about 17 miles away at Waffle House on Evans Mill Road.
DeKalb County police said two robbers held up people at the restaurant and the suspects ended up at an apartment complex at Snapfinger Woods Drive and Shellbark Road.

Police told Pozen they exchanged gunfire with one of the accused robbers at the Neighbor’s Market grocery store directly in front of a number of apartment complexes.
That suspect, identified as Dustin Fant, 27, died on the scene. Demargues Williams, 21, was also taken into custody.
Video obtained by Pozen shows cars backed up as police investigated.
“I was leaving to go pick up my friend and that’s when they were stopping everybody,” Myreck said.
Monique Bradford who lives with her children behind the strip mall told Pozen this latest incident has her thinking it’s time to move.
“Everything and anything goes on at that gas station. But it doesn’t surprise me at all. It is just the fact that it is just so close to home,” Bradford said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into whether the fatal shot to the Fant was self-inflicted or came from an officer’s gun.
