Police investigating after car shot up driving along I-20 in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A driver had their back windshield blown out as bullets started flying along Interstate 20.

Investigators say it’s a case of road rage that happened as thousands of metro drivers hit the roads for the Memorial Day holiday.

The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Friday.

Channel 2′s Dave Huddleston found the car along I-20 eastbound just as an ambulance was pulling away from the scene near the Wesley Chapel Road exit.

Police said no one was injured in the incident, but the back windshield of the car was blown out from the gunfire. Huddleston said that appeared to be the only damage to the car.

DeKalb County Police said they are still investigating the incident. In the meantime, the investigation into the shooting added to the already congested interstate, causing traffic backups in the area.
