BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Police are searching for a man they say stabbed a woman in the back while she was walking with her son along the Peachtree Creek Greenway in Brookhaven.
The incident happened Saturday around 5:30 p.m.
Officers said the man approached the woman, who was walking with her son, and tried striking up a conversation with her. When she started to leave, police said the man stabbed the woman in the back.
Investigators said the woman has serious injuries but was expected to survive. Her son was not injured.

Police released a picture of the man. They said he is 20- to 30-years-old, weighs between 160 – 180 pounds and is 5 feet 8 inches tall.
At the time of the stabbing, the man was wearing a white tank top, long, dark shorts, and a dark-colored hat with the word “DOPE” written on it.
Investigators said they believe the man also walked in the area of Buford Highway and Corporate Boulevard before the stabbing.
