Police searching for suspect after man shot, killed at apartment complex

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police say a man in his early 30s was killed at a DeKalb County apartment complex Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened around noon on Glenwood Road at the Decatur Gardens Apartments.

Channel 2′s Michael Seiden was in DeKalb County, where police are still searching for the shooter. Police say the motive may have been robbery.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, telling Seiden that after the shooter fired, he jumped in a getaway car and then crashed it head-on into another car before running from the scene.

The apartment complex is no stranger to violence. Back in August, a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg. Back in October, two fires tore through the complex, damaging 12 units and displacing 70 people.
