DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are investigating a deadly crash that shut down a road Thursday morning.
Authorities told Channel 2 Action News a pedestrian was hit by a car on Covington Highway at Turner Hill Road.

According to the investigation, the victim got out to check on their disabled car when he was hit in the middle of the road. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields said Turner Hill Road was shut down in both directions as police investigated for a couple of hours before it reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing.
