DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating after they said a high school freshman shot and killed a senior at the freshman's house.
It happened in Stone Mountain on Lakewater View Drive. Channel 2's Alyssa Hyman learned the high school senior who was shot, identified as Phildarious Parrish, died at the hospital.
DeKalb County schools said the shooting involved students from Stephenson High School, saying it stemmed from an after-school fight earlier this week.
The 15-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with murder.
“Yesterday, a 12th grade student at Stephenson High School was shot and killed by a 9th grade student, also from Stephenson HS, at the 9th grade student's home. This follows an altercation that took place yesterday in the bus lane at the school involving approximately 4 to 5 boys. DeKalb County School District Public Safety and DeKalb County Police are investigating this matter. A crisis team will be at the school in the morning to provide support to students and staff.”
A witness recorded video on Snapchat moments later when half a dozen squad cars showed up.
"Scary, very scary. Nothing like that never happened in this neighborhood," neighbor Jessica Perdue said.
Perdue said she doesn't know what happened but said when she came home, she saw her son's friend in the back of the police car.

"He was probably coming to my house because they arrested him in front of my house," Perdue said.
"I don't know exactly what happened. They said something like the murder weapon was in my house. They figured they had the wrong house," Perdue said.
It's not clear why police might have thought the weapon was at Perdue's house, but officials confirmed with Channel 2 Action News that one person was arrested in the deadly shooting. However, they have not identified the person in custody.
"He seemed like he was a good kid. He's always over at my house," Perdue said.
Perdue said she saw a second person in the back of the police car, as well. It’s not clear if either of them was actually charged or just questioned.
