Abrams told Channel 2′s Dave Huddleston that even though some polls have Gov. Brian Kemp leading, that’s only a snapshot of what’s happening. She added, “if you’re looking at the polls that I’m looking at, which are the polls at the voting booth, we are seeing polling from people who are not in the traditional polling market.”

In a one-on-one interview inside Abrams’ tour bus, the Democratic candidate said she wants to take care of the people of Georgia. “I would make sure our teachers actually make a living wage and not just a 5 thousand increase on layaway.”

She told the crowd, “They say this couldn’t have been stopped: of course this could’ve been stopped.”

She said if Kemp had expanded Medicare, WellStar Health Systems may have kept the hospital open. We watched as they took down the AMC sign less than 12 hours after closing. Abrams says that would not have happened if she were governor.

“We can have a better Georgia if we have a governor who wants you to have more, and I do.”

But Republicans say Abrams doesn’t want to be governor and that this is just a stepping stone for a presidential run. Abrams told Huddleston that’s simply not true.

“Mr. Kemp seems to have an issue with women having ambition, and when asked what I want to do with my life, I want to serve — that is why I have done everything I can, even if I have a title or not.”
