DUNWOODY, Ga. — Newly released surveillance video shows two men attacking a Dunwoody mother inside of her apartment.

The invasion happened Nov. 9 at the woman's apartment on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

Police said the men broke in through a kitchen window and waited for the woman as she came home from taking her children to the bus stop.

According to police, the men assaulted the woman with a metal pipe and gun and stole cash, jewelry and other personal items.

“One of the suspects, for about 10 minutes, continued to assault the victim as the other suspect went through the house stealing items of value,” Dunwoody police Sgt. Aaron Belt said.

Police said the woman was able to fight off the attackers and they left through the window they came in.

“The victim fought very, very courageously against those attackers and possibly could have prevented something more severe,” Belt said.

The woman said she has been living in fear ever since the attack.

“All changed here because the sense of security and stability is not the same. The fear always follows me when I get inside my home,” the victim said.

Police hope the video will help catch the suspects.

“We’re hoping with the video footage they released that somebody out there can help us identify these two and help us get them off the street very quickly,” Belt said.
