DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are searching for three men they say shoplifted at Perimeter Mall on Christmas Eve and pointed a gun at an employee.
The incident happened around 12:40 p.m. at the Macy’s department store, police said. When a loss prevention officer confronted three men suspected of shoplifting, one pointed a gun at him.

All three men ran from the store and into the parking lot. The officer didn’t see what kind of vehicle the suspects may have left in.
It’s just one in a string of violent incidents recently at metro Atlanta malls. Police swarmed Perimeter Mall just days later after a robbery sparked panic and reports of an active shooter. Police determined no shots had been fired and that the suspects knew each other.

Lenox Square recently installed metal detectors after a string of shootings there, one of which left a man dead.
A seven-year-old girl died after she was shot in the head by stray bullets after a group of men got into a confrontation outside Phipps Plaza just before Christmas. Police are still searching for her killer.
