DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Two suspects are in custody after police said there was a carjacking attempt Friday afternoon in DeKalb County.
According to Chamblee Police, the incident happened in the parking lot of the Sam’s Club on Clairmont Road in Chamblee.
Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach reports the victim fought back and one of the suspects accidentally shot himself.
Police said the suspect shot himself in the hand and nearly lost his right pinkie finger.

At that point, the suspects ran away. But police said it wasn't long before officers found them a short time later.
"When his finger is barely hanging by a thread, that's the guy you're looking for," an officer said.
As the suspect was in handcuffs, he told Gehlbach, "I love my son. I love my wife."
