Channel 2′s Elizabeth Rawlins was at the Berean Christian Church, where the brawl broke out on Saturday.
Rawlings learned that the church was hosting several teams from around the country.
Rawlings talked to Latoyia Carter, who runs the F.A.M.E. dance studio in Detroit.
She traveled to the competition from Detroit with her 14-year-old daughter and her team.

Carter said that another team instigated the fight, but it’s still unclear why.
“I had seen a scuffle from across the floor of someone that was hitting on children,” Carter said. “And when I look, I noticed it was my daughter being hit.”
Carter said she saw her daughter being tossed around on the ground.
“They were trying to jump on her. There were so many of them. So I ran over there to try to get them off,” Carter said. “That’s when they began to trample me.”
Carter said she still wonders why the team targeted her daughter’s team.
DeKalb County police were called out to the scene but according to investigators, it had cleared by the time they arrived.

Carter said her daughter’s team is now trying to cope and recover at home.
“We lost a lot traveling this far,” Carter said. “Our students are devastated. We are looking into counseling for our dancers, who are traumatized.”
