DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Waffle House has fired several employees and is apologizing to a local couple after outrageous video was posted on social media showing restaurant employees pouring food on an unconscious man, and picking him up and dancing with him like a doll.

The man was inebriated and had passed out inside a Lithonia Waffle House in DeKalb County last Wednesday. That’s when two restaurant employees recorded video of themselves pouring condiments, including ketchup, on the man.

The man's fiancée gave the video that was downloaded from an Instagram page to Channel 2's Matt Johnson.

"As soon as I saw it I was in awe and I busted out crying," the man's fiancée said.

The man said he doesn't know any of the people involved and didn't even realize it happened until the embarrassing Instagram post started racking up more and more views.

"He went to go get his head together, his mind straight, he passed out during the time, and they took advantage of him," the man's fiancée said.

She said the now-private Instagram page featured several similar videos featuring different customers at the location off Evans Mill Road.

"Half of the people who are on his page probably don't even know they're being exposed at the moment," she said.

The man involved said once he woke up, he ordered food and walked home.

A report has been filed with the DeKalb County Police Department for simple battery.

Waffle House said in a new statement Thursday, that the employees had been fired.

"We have been in contact with the customer and have apologized. When we learned of this event we launched an investigation, and have terminated the employees involved. Their actions in no way represent our company or our thousands of Associates who strive to provide our customers with a positive experience daily," the company said.
