DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News was at the scene on Sherbrooke Drive in DeKalb County, where a water main break turned into an eruption of water in the road.
Information about what caused the break was not immediately available, but the incident happened just days after a winter storm swept through the metro Atlanta area, bringing frigid temperatures, snow and ice.
Crews from DeKalb County Watershed Management were on scene for repair work and had the water cut off around 10:45 a.m.
Temperatures for the day are still cold, Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon said, with temperatures today staying in the 40s. Lows tonight will drop below freezing and there could be icy conditions on the road Monday morning.

Officers told Channel 2 Action News this morning that they’ll need to salt the street after repairs are done. We have reached out to watershed officials for more information and are waiting for their response.
At the scene, water is still streaming down the street. A Watershed Management employee told Channel 2′s Bryan Mims that the cold was likely a factor in causing the break.
“There was no water at about 5 o’clock,” Louie Shamatta said. “I thought it was a frozen pipe in the house. I didn’t hear anything going on.”
He said later in the morning, around 8:30 a.m. or 9 a.m., his wife saw the water spouting up in the air.
DeKalb County police officers are parked on scene to monitor the situation and a crew is epxcted to repair the pipe today, getting water flowing again for those living nearby.
