Officers responded to a home on Harmony Hill Court in Lithonia after they received calls of a shooting at 11:30 a.m.
Investigators say the girl had been shot, but the woman they found dead inside the home had not been shot. They say they found no signs of foul play surrounding her death.
Details on what led up to the shooting are limited.
Neighbors tell Channel 2′s Larry Spruill the family who lives in the home typically kept to themselves, but recently had a large birthday party for a child. They’re shocked something like this could happen in their quiet neighborhood.
